Faith at the Mooring

faith [feyth] noun
1. confidence or trust in a person or thing: faith in another’s ability.
2. belief that is not based on proof: He had faith that the hypothesis would be substantiated by fact.

Faith in this mind floats tenuously,
never allowed to break free from the thick mooring rope of uncertainty
securely tied to the dock of honest, critical examination.

The dock bobs unowned in the immense, shoreless sea of consciousness.
